R/Place
16X16 inch, CMYK print (2017)
Design taken from Reddit and turned into full-color screen print. This project was a conceptual idea to take a work of art that no one person owned from the digital sphere and make a physical print out of it. The taken image is a single quadrant cropped out of a larger image.
R/Place was a collaborative artistic social experiment. Registered users of Reddit had access to a large canvas where only one pixel could be edited at a time every 5 to 20 minutes. There were only 16 colors and users had to collaborate to effectively create imagery. The final image is a massive canvas with hundreds of images representing hundreds of Reddit communities that involved thousands of users working together.
